Online teleprompter with mirror controls and rehearsal take comparison
Turn a script into a controlled reading session. Keep the display easy to follow and use finished takes to see where time changes between rehearsals.
Teleprompter Rehearsal
The example is a short product presentation. Try a countdown, pause halfway, mark a paragraph and finish a take. A second take of the same text can be compared without inventing a speech score.
Supported scope: UTF-8 TXT scripts up to 256 KiB, 100,000 characters and 1,500 paragraphs. Project JSON up to 2 MiB. Up to 100 paragraph bookmarks, 40 finished takes, the first 120 timing events per take, and two hours of visible timing per take. Plain text only; no DOCX/PDF import, camera capture, audio/video recording, speech recognition or automatic word tracking. Fullscreen and microphone access depend on browser support; manual controls remain available.

Does it follow the words I am speaking?
No. Manual mode scrolls at a chosen number of screen pixels per second. Optional microphone mode measures local volume and allows scrolling while sound crosses your threshold. It does not recognise words or know which paragraph you are speaking. Noise, music or another speaker can open the volume gate.
Are my script or microphone samples uploaded?
This tool processes the script on your device. Its microphone analyser measures volume locally and does not record or transcribe audio. Persistent saving is off initially. If you enable it, the project is stored in this browser; downloads are created locally. Do not treat browser storage as encrypted storage on a shared device.
What do the take times mean?
Visible time includes running time and explicit pauses while the page is visible. Running time includes waits caused by the volume gate. Countdown and time in a hidden tab are excluded. The reader pauses after a long animation gap to prevent a sudden jump. A full-script words-per-minute figure is a timing estimate, not a count of spoken words.
Can I mirror the script for teleprompter glass?
Yes. Horizontal and vertical transformations affect the reading area while controls stay readable. Try the reflection on your actual setup before recording. Native fullscreen is used when available; otherwise an expanded focus view can be exited with Escape or its button.
Can I compare two different scripts or skipped sections?
The comparison checks the script fingerprint, starting and ending scroll positions and position-jump history. Different revisions or mismatched ranges are labelled as unsuitable for a matched timing comparison. You can still inspect each take’s durations and notes. Display reflow during a take pauses it and flags the range as changed.
How do I save and resume my work?
Finish the current take and download the project JSON, which contains the script, display settings, paragraph bookmarks, finished takes and saved reading position. TXT contains the script; CSV contains the take table. Optional local saving stores a browser copy of the project, but not active-take timing. Load the saved copy explicitly; turning saving off removes it.
Sources & assumptions
Formats, algorithms and supported features are documented below. Check the stated scope and inspect your output before using it.
- MDN: animation timestamps ↗
Elapsed-time animation avoids tying scroll speed to screen refresh rate.
- MDN: fullscreen requests ↗
Fullscreen requires browser support and user activation; a focus-view fallback is provided.
- MDN: microphone permission ↗
Microphone access requires permission and a suitable secure browser context.
- MDN: local time-domain audio samples ↗
A local analyser supplies samples for volume measurement, not speech recognition.
- MDN: browser-local storage ↗
Browser-local persistence can be blocked or cleared and is not cross-device backup.
